kurt vonnegut, jr.
We are especially fond of American author Kurt Vonnegut. Our current inventory contains two of his scarcest paperback originals, The Sirens of Titan and Canary In A Cat House.

scotland & the game of golf
Among our select shelf of unusual golf books is the limited, autographed edition of the classic The Duffer's Handbook of Golf by Grantland Rice with illustrations by Clair Briggs, and a first edition of Robert Hunter's classic work on golf architecture Links.

children's books
Two selections from our children's books shown here are Tasha Tudor's first published book Pumpkin Moonshine, a very nice copy of the first edition in the original dust jacket; and a whimsical collection of word-play poems by Catherine Janvier titled London Mews.  Our copy has been expertly rebound preserving the original title from the paper covers.

art & architecture
We recently acquired a copy of Paul Landacre's magnificent collection of woodcuts titled California Hills, published in a limited and autographed edition in 1931.

one of a kind works
Among our unique holdings is this copy of Charmian London's biography of her husband Jack.  Our copy is "extra illustrated" with Jack London's autograph, bookplate, and photographs, as well as a long inscription from Charmian to the book's owner.  Both volumes of this copy have been custom bound in full green leather.

local history
We maintain the area's largest collection of local historical books and ephemera for sale.  Along with county histories and city directories, we currently have copies of George Tinkham's History of Stockton, as well as, in our opinion, the finest novel yet written about Stockton, Leonard Gardner's Fat City.
(See our home page for illustrations of these two titles.)
